Ahah, I know that feeling. Had a project I worked on with a friend and we just kept restarting constantly. Currently working on one story, I think I have that one planned out well enough to not need a restart.

And if I start a comic, I have the characters ready thanks to earlier planning. xD

The main reason I abandon projects tends to be that I start thinking that my storyline is too stupid, and then I feel like redoing everything. So yeah, I try to plan that one out more carefully than before. xD

Drew another thing. Not sure whether this could be of any use, but at least you're free to use it if you want to.

As for the method I generally use, I don't like vectors because they never behave like I want them to. Most of the time I just use a tablet + Photoshop or Paint Too Sai. So it's much like drawing on paper, just that I find my lines a little harder to control when using a tablet.
