When did the S3 actually come out? My Dad's S3 isn't being delivered until the 29/30th of this month.

It was released mid May and Early may to some developers, and a handful select audience.
But your dad is right on track UK's release is on that day.
My apologies for the confusion.
The dev's is a bit fast on things, the phone can also be rooted.the binary is already out as well.

Still this is a great news for us,the common people since root and a custom rom is already available before the phone will actually get released.
And for the tons of people wanting to stretch the phone to its limits, knowing a custom rom exist already is a big step.

You should test out Touchwiz for about a week before you consider rooting tbh. You never know, S Voice might be amazing! Wink

TouchWiz is horrible, I think basically everyone agrees. My TouchWiz launcher has fucked up - all the stock apps now have a page to themselves so I have about 20-30 pages - and you can't rearrange icons with TouchWiz.

S voice has already been ported out of the S3 and now availabe to be used on any ICS device,

Well I am on a Samsung phone and never really liked Touchwiz.
As far as rooting phones, All my devices were rooted after 4 hours of purchase no issues eversince, except for the occasional screw ups that I make on installing tweaks.

Ah, I'd seen the flipthinggy app had been done but the guy forgot about S Voice and I hadn't checked for a while. Thanks!
